So Kristen Stewart apparently “cheated” on Robert Pattison and people everywhere are saying she must die a slow, painful death. Come on, she’s 22 years old…is it really that likely she’ll marry the first serious boyfriend she’s ever had? Weren’t they bound to break up sooner or later and probably because of some random third party that no one will remember in a year’s time? I know Twilight fans don’t want to hear that, but she can’t stay “Bella” forever, the franchise is ending and their relationship is no longer of use to them.
Mitt Romney said he was concerned that London wasn’t taking all the preparations they should be for their Olympics, and David Cameron said it was harder to put on an Olympics in a real city like London instead of “the middle of nowhere” (i.e. Salt Lake City, where Romney hosted his own Olympics). I don’t really have commentary on this, just interesting that now Romney has soured theĀ oneĀ aspect of his life he feels comfortable talking about, the Olympics. Seriously, he doesn’t want to talk about Bain Capital, he doesn’t want to talk about being a Mormon, he doesn’t want to talk about dodging the Vietnam war by being in France, he doesn’t want to talk about being the wealthy son of George Romney, he doesn’t want to talk about being Governor of Massachusetts because of “Romneycare,” and now he’s steering clear of talking about the Olympics, the one thing the man seemed proud of. At a certain point, the GOP has to admit they’ve picked a bad candidate…a bad candidate that could very easily win, but still a bad candidate.
Chick-Fila came out against gay marriage last week, as if there could be any doubt where a religious freak company that’s closed on Sundays and employees only pod people to take your order stood on gay marriage. And now, in retaliation, The Muppets are cutting off all ties with the company…I don’t know, something about that just strikes me as hilarious. Kermit the Frog has to be the voice of reason over a food chain run like a religious organization.
Runner-Up Asshole of the Week: The conservative causes and candidates that keep advertising on my website, I guess thinking it’s funny to plaster ads for Michelle Bachmann or Tea Party causes on a clearly liberal website. Well, you know, that side has more money…waaaaay more money, and if they want to fill ad space, they can certainly pay for it, but just know that I don’t support EVERY ad that’s on the site and don’t chose which ones are on here.
Asshole of the Century: The Colorado Shooter that terrorized a movie theater last weekend. I don’t think it’s worth glorifying his actions by even repeating his name nor talking about him 24/7 (hear that news media?). He’s a loser, not worth talking about, and the faster he sinks into obscurity the absolute better for the country.
