Anderson Cooper says “I’m gay.” America says “No shit.”
Am I the only person who doesn’t feel sorry for Katie Holmes? Tom Cruise didn’t “ruin” her career…her acting did that. Whatever millions she’s ever able to shake Cruise down for are more than she’d ever make trying to get “Mad Money 2” green lit.
Obama’s David Alexrod called out Mitt Romney’s Bermuda tax dodge but Republicans are saying it’s irrelevant…Uhhh, a president who’s a tax cheat is irrelevant? No wonder Mitt Romney wants rich people to pay less taxes, he’s already not paying his.
Runner-Up Asshole of the Week: Rupert Murdoch. He calls Scientology a cult and that Tom Cruise is “possibly evil” yet says that Mormonism “isn’t evil.” Am I Scientologist? No. But it bothers me that so many love piling on a religion that is essentially a pyramid scheme but refuse to call out Mormonism, another secretive religion that demands absolute loyalty which has done harm on a far greater scale (such as taxing members at 10 percent and funding the opposition to gay marriage in half this country). Bernie Madoff looks like chump change compared to some of the Mormon church’s schemes.
Asshole of the Week: GlaxoSmithKline. This is a tough one since I’m not sure whether to be madder at GlaxoSmithKline (for having to pay 3 billion dollars in fees for crimes) or the bought-and-sold government that only makes them pay money instead of face criminal charges or the media that refuses to push this story forward (I guess because Glaxo products buy a lot of ad time on their news broadcasts).
