I keep hearing all this talk about how Ed Shultz should be kicked off MSNBC because he got his start on right wing radio. And? All of them are personalities that might not believe what they’re really saying to keep a job. Bill O’Reilly got his start on tabloid trash like Inside Edition, Keith Olbermann got his start on Sports Center, and Glenn Beck got his start barking at squirrels in a K-Mart parking lot.

Congress’s approval ratings are through the floor but local polls show that NOBODY thinks their congressman is part of the problem. [The shitty ones have to come from SOMEwhere] Congress is like people’s children, everyone agrees they’re getting worse but no one thinks their own is bad.

Of all the fake controversies you could get worked up over I don’t think Michelle Bachmann’s Newsweek cover is one of them. Republicans need to spend less time attacking magazine’s putting up cover pictures of their candidates that make them look crazy and more time wondering why one of their candidates looks crazy. I would threaten to move if Michelle Bachmann wins election except that we’ll be in a nuclear “Holy” war with all the other countries a few months later. Bachmann makes Mike Huckabee look secular.

Obama must put people to work, specifically one man: Michael Steele. Steele must find a job so I don’t have to see him on MSNBC anymore. I think I actually lose braincells when he says Republicans are “just kidding” about everything from Texas secession to gay people are barbarians, and his flop sweat (can somebody get this motherfucker a sponge?) gets my TV wet when he’s on.

Asshole of the Week: Verizon. It’s pretty rare an entire corporation gets called out in this weekly segment but their behavior warrants it. So few people are paying attention to this strike (only complaining about the inconvenience to getting their Blackberries serviced) that they really have no clue what it’s about. Verizon workers aren’t being “greedy” or asking for a big pay raise, they’re asking for what they currently have: a decent pension, somewhat decent healthcare, and a relatively decent wage.
