As most of you probably know Alabama was wrecked by a record number of tornadoes two weeks ago. The last new items to go up were on that Wednesday, and that was it until yesterday’s movie reviews. For about a week I didn’t have internet so I couldn’t have posted new stuff even I wanted to, and then I just wanted to give it some more time out of respect. I appreciate those that dropped by anyway and asked when I would write some stuff, so this week you’ll get your wish.
I still feel like it might be a little disrespectful to carry on talking about politics in a state that is just trying to do basic things like get running water after a major disaster, but, ultimately, you have to continue after a disaster. And if you waited for the exact right time, you’d be waiting forever.
I’d like to wish some sincere sympathies to all those affected by the tornadoes. And wish any areas without running water, electricity, or infrastructure a speedy recovery. It’s a very sad time for our state, but, at the same time, if our new Governor can go back to talking about cutting teacher benefits the week of the disaster, then I should be there the week after to try to stop him. No one understands that disasters don’t stop public policy better than Republicans, and we’re still stuck with the Iraq War, the Patriot Act, and Homeland Security as a reminder.
I am a liberal vegetarian considering a move to Huntsville. Would you recommend this move?
No. Liberals in Alabama are the equivalent of Muslims at an airport.
Liz: Yes I would. Ultimately, I think there are enough liberals in Alabama you’ll feel okay, but I think the vegetarian part might be harder lol. I like Huntsville a lot though (it’s the nearest city to where I’m from) so it’s hard for me to tell someone NOT to move there. It might not be what you’re used to and it will take a little to get there, but we have to be the change we want to see in the world. We can’t afford to write off any city or state. And if you’re coming from out of state you will probably love Huntsville’s low prices and lack of traffic.

Keep up the good work, and welcome back.
