As a follow-up to the “editorial” I posted a few weeks back about Shanghai’s singular architecture, it’s finally time I make good on a promise to post more pictures from the trip. It’s not been easy to load the pictures onto the site for some reason, but I’m truly sorry it took this long. [The plan is to do this, one set of Hong Kong pictures, maybe an actual editorial about how shady China is, post an interview with a Hong Kong resident, and leave the topic sometime next week…Still, you know what they say about plans…] Hopefully, this will be something fun to look at on the first Saturday of June, when people like to (temporarily) forget politics and do something fun…but only for a few weeks.
This is the Shanghai History Museum which could be mistaken for a Super Bowl Stadium
The Inside of the Shanghai History Museum...They spent more time on the design than the exhibits
Inside the Shanghai ART Museum most paintings are pretty basic and non-controversial/abstract but this one is a standout, encapsulating the promise of religion in a single beautiful image
This is the entrance to the Nanjing Pedestrian Walkway, a large outdoor "mall" where approximately ten thousand people will try to sell you something in the course of a mile's walk
A shot down one of the hellaciously busy side-streets of Nanjing Walkway
To beat the heat, some passengers take mini-trollies without tracks around the Walkway
My personal favorite Shanghai sight, The Bundt, an enormous river area. See if you can spot The Pearl Tower
That center right building that looks like a giant bottle opener is actually the fifth tallest building in the world

The outside of Shanghai Circus World, like Cirque De Soleil but with one tenth the budget and twenty times the risks to the performers
Some of the performers at Shanghai Circus World, potentially seconds away from death
The performers drag racing in a steel cage, sounds like a good idea
This is their "Times Square" a ginormous indoor mall. Note the minuscule pedestrian beside it for scale

“The Other Side of the Bundt at Night” – my favorite picture. Eye-Catching Photo Award.
