In the first part of a trilogy questioning different aspects of 2016 liberalism, we ask “Are Politically Correct Liberals the New Social Conservatives?” We dive bone-deep into a rival ideology that is–fundamentally–about telling people you’re a good person more than really being a good person, not entirely different from a social conservative that might find more time to protest an abortion clinic than volunteer at a homeless shelter. We explore how the growing hyper-sensitivity on the left (particularly in media, college campuses, and online) may actually be clouding debates they used to be drastically more reasonable on, and we give our New York predictions. Plus, explaining why Bernie dismissing Hillary’s wins in the South is such a huge mistake.
