Before seeing Lady Gaga on 60 Minutes, I didn’t really like her that much…and now I’m certain I don’t. This is reason 11466 that young women don’t have any good role models in a media landscape of fame whores and teen moms turned reality stars. The best role models out there are international women (like Brazil’s first female President or the now deceased Nadia Bhutto) American girls couldn’t pick out of a lineup.
With Weinergate dominating the news cycle this week, how happy is Arnold Schwarzenegger?
Most backhanded defense: All the people saying John Edwards is a scumbag, lowlife, dirty, scummy ass, slimy piece of shit…but then saying he’s not guilty of a crime.
Asshole of the Week Runner Up: Whoever decided theater popcorn had to have a 10,000 percent markup. You pay 6 dollars for this jock strap of popcorn that cost–with minimum wage labor costs added–about ten cents for theaters to make.
Asshole of the Week: You’ve wondered when it would happen, you’ve begged for it, but this week’s asshole is Sarah Palin, perpetual asshole and front runner for Asshole of the Century. She messed up who Paul Revere was while riding around in a gaudy ass “patriotic” bus that could not have looked tackier, and then refused to admit she got it wrong on Faux News. Chris Wallace was even being nice about it, and kind of gently nudging her into admitting her humility, but she said she got it right (she didn’t) and that asking her what she had enjoyed the most about her trip was a “gotcha” question (it wasn’t). THEN her cult of followers tried to change Paul Revere’s page to reflect her answer in the most dangerous thing yet. So apparently if you’re Sarah Palin, and you get something wrong, instead of being scolded for it, you just dive headlong into ignorance and your disciples will follow you.
too true
Can’t someone do something about Sarah Palin? seriously enough
