If you’re not watching Comedy Central’s “Nathan For You,” then do yourself a favor and catch up with it. This is one of the funniest shows on TV that seemingly no one has heard of, and that’s a shame because I haven’t watched an episode yet that didn’t have real, genuine belly laughs.
The show is a sly parody of all the business shows that have taken over cable in the last few years, as Nathan Fielder (a dry straight man antagonizer who’s like a cross between Seinfeld and Sacha Baron Cohen) “helps” actual struggling small businesses with innovative promotions and gimmicks. Some of them are actually just crazy enough to work (a gas station rebate that’s hilariously impossible to claim, a rip-off of Starbucks for a coffee shop using parody law) and some that aren’t—-trying to enforce a “no sharing” policy for movie theater concessions or shit-flavored frozen yogurt to inspire buzz—-are no less fun to watch.
But I’ve spoiled enough of his hilarious ideas. Just watch several episodes, and be glad you did. Grade for First Season: A…Grade for Second Season: A…Grade for Second Season Finale: A
