This coming Sunday will be the Super Bowl of Television (forgetting of course that the Super Bowl is on Television, anyway, you get the idea) because I’m pretty sure there will be something for absolutely anyone in the country to watch, and a very busy night for those of us who care about quality TV series. [For those that don’t, there’s also a football game on NBC.]
Just look at this lineup…
Fox has the season premieres of The Simpsons, American Dad, Family Guy, and Bob’s Burgers.
ABC has the season premieres of Once Upon a Time, Revenge, and the series premiere of Betrayal.
CBS has the season premieres of The Amazing Race, The Mentalist, and The Good Wife (the only show so far that I’ll definitely watch…although not on Sunday night).
Then we get to the really good stuff…
Showtime has the season premiere of Homeland and the series premiere of Masters of Sex.
HBO has a new episode of Boardwalk Empire, the season premiere of Danny McBride’s excellent Eastbound and Down, and the series premiere of Hello, Ladies.
And, of course, there’s AMC. In addition to new episodes of Talking Bad and Low Winter Sun, they’ll also be showing the series finale of the best show on TV right now: Breaking Bad.
What an embarrassment of riches.
I know I’ll be watching Breaking Bad live, but after that will be a real coin toss…
